The Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center is one of the research centers of Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. Its mission is to develop a deeper understanding of the biology and biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system, and to apply this knowledge to the improvement of orthopaedic materials and implants, and surgical instrumentation and techniques, thereby improving the quality of care to orthopaedic patients world-wide.
Leadership
The Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center consists of the President, Vice-President and Director, operational management, and research teams. Oversight and governance is provided by a Board of Directors and a Scientific Advisory Committee.
History
In 1979, Dr. J. Vernon Luck Sr., M.D. and the Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital Foundation made the landmark decision to create a center where education, research and patient care could merge into a powerful center for excellence in orthopaedic research.
