The Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital Legacy Society

In 1911, an innovative young orthopaedic surgeon named Charles LeRoy Lowman envisioned a new kind of hospital — a supportive place where children with disabilities could receive the finest care available, regardless of their families' ability to pay. Almost 100 years and 2 million patient visits later, the skill, dedication and compassion of generations of orthopaedic leaders have forever changed countless lives. What an incredible legacy these visionary leaders and their donors have created!

You now have the opportunity to join these leaders and past donors, creating your own legacy for Orthopaedic Hospital. Charitable giving ensures that Orthopaedic Hospital's unique mission continues, allowing us to take more extraordinary steps into the future. Whether it is through charity care, educating residents and fellows on pediatric orthopedics, or conducting research to discover causes and cures, you and your family can make our tomorrow happen. Your legacy also permits us to make dreams a reality for children and adults in need of orthopaedic care. Now, more than ever, private gifts and bequests are needed to sustain the Hospital's work at the forefront of medicine, and to continue to provide a safety net for children in need.

The Orthopaedic Hospital Legacy Society was established to recognize the generous individuals who contribute to the Hospital through a planned or deferred gift. Planned or deferred giving is an element of estate planning that integrates personal benefits that can last the rest of your lifetime, with charitable benefits that can last in perpetuity. Many planned giving options offer tremendous flexibility in designing a gift, from bequests that reduce real estate taxes to trusts that preserve income for retirement, often with substantial income or capital gains savings advantages.

"The future of orthopaedic research, and its impact on future generations of children and adults, rests upon the philanthropy of private citizens. Orthopaedic Hospital has been at the forefront of orthopaedic research funded by private philanthropy, for almost 100 years. Your support will help us continue this effort." Picture of Mr. Lombardi
